Upper punch jammed
A bit of technology is required:
You can remove the upper stamp on the Flexi machine, but it is permanently mounted on the button machine type 900. It has the same function on both models: It consists of two parts that have to be movable. When you swing your machine from position 1 to position 2, the position of the upper stamp changes. With the help of the two clamping pins that are mounted on it in conjunction with the converter (pin on the swivel plate), the upper stamp is positioned as required. In position 1, the small pins in the upper stamp sit on, in position 2 they disappear into the holes provided for them.
If the upper stamp is jammed or can no longer move freely, then nothing will work. The most common cause of this is that the inner part of the upper stamp is damaged. It is made of aluminum, a relatively soft, sensitive material. If there is a "flaw" in it, the inner part will get stuck and nothing will work. We have now dedicated an entire page in the user manual to this problem and how to prevent it. There is also a sticker on the stamp sets that draws attention to this.

Take the upper stamp out of your Flexi and look to see if there is any similar damage. Even small dents are enough to make the upper stamp immobile. If you find the notch, you will notice on closer inspection that the aluminum is bulging outwards due to the notch. This in turn means that the aluminum inner part no longer fits into the outer ring of the upper stamp. That is why it is stuck. You may be able to use a soft object such as a wooden stick to push the notch back inwards. So that the inner part fits into the outer ring again and is movable. You can also try carefully using a piece of fine sandpaper. But be careful not to sand the outer ring. If that doesn't work, unfortunately the only solution is to send it in. We will then dismantle the upper stamp and polish out the notches. This is annoying, which is why we point this out on the packaging and in the operating instructions. The best help here is prevention: Please always handle the stamps carefully, especially the upper stamp. And never pull the upper stamp down if it is not correctly positioned over the lower stamp.
