Upper stamp does not hold
A classic Flexi phenomenon
... which basically only affects the Flexi button machine. On the button machine type 900, the upper stamp is screwed on tightly, the screws should be tightened every now and then.
On the Flexi machine, the upper stamp is held mechanically with the help of 4 spring-loaded ball screws. They are located under the 4 cap nuts and are basically screwed into the Flexi holder. They look like a grub screw with a ball screw. The ball screw is located inside the Flexi holder. When you push the upper stamp in, the ball screws give way and then "sink" into the recessed groove. The upper stamp then holds and can be released again with a little pressure.
This functionality required these ball screws to be perfectly adjusted. They must be adjusted so that the stamp holds firmly enough. But only so tightly that you can easily replace the stamp with a little pressure. Before your Flexi machine is delivered, we will adjust this perfectly here. Afterwards, please do not turn the spring pressure pieces. We have specifically included this in the operating instructions. Otherwise, the upper stamp may no longer hold firmly enough, as in the picture.
Solution approach:
But if the damage has already been done, there are only two options:
1. You send us your Flexi so that we can adjust it correctly
2. You try to adjust the pressure pieces correctly yourself. In the worst case, you have "made things worse", but then you will have to send the machine to us. It might be worth a try.
If you choose option 2, here are the step-by-step instructions:
Take out all the stamps. Unscrew all 4 cap nuts. You can now feel the ball screws underneath from the inside of the Flexi holder. The further they protrude and the better you can feel them from the inside, the more firmly they hold the upper stamp. Since your upper stamp is not holding, you will probably feel them little or not at all. Now start with the first ball screw. Screw it in a little by hand. First about a quarter turn to the right. Repeat this for all four pressure pieces.
Then you feel again. In the best case, the ball screws now protrude a little further.
Now you try to put the upper punch back in. Take it out and put it back in a few times to make sure that the adjustment is correct. If so, you can screw the cap nuts back onto the flexi bracket from the outside. If not, you continue with this adjustment process until the adjustment is perfect. This is a bit fiddly, but of course we have a lot more practice at it and can do it very quickly.
It can also be the case that a pressure piece is broken. Then the ball has broken out and you can't feel anything from the inside. Then we have to replace the ball screw. Important: Only tighten it by hand! Not with a tool!
