International Shipping:
Delivery times depend on the destination country – usually 3–7 business days. Detailed information can be found at checkout or upon request.
Shipping costs (within Germany):
Flat rate of €7.95 per order with DHL, €12.95 with DPD for one package.
Free shipping within Germany for orders over €100.

All Badgematic button machines come with a lifetime warranty. This means that if your machine has a defect, we will take care of the repair – in many cases even free of charge. You don't need a warranty certificate or an invoice. The warranty remains valid even if the machine changes ownership.
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Excluded are damages caused by improper use, force, attempted repairs, damage due to inadequate packaging during shipping, or the use of non-original Badgematic button blanks.
Shipping costs:
• Within Germany:
- For the first 2 years, we cover the shipping costs for both outbound and return shipping.
- If the machine is older than 2 years, you are responsible for shipping it to us; we cover the return shipping.
• International:
- For the first 6 months, we cover both outbound and return shipping.
- After that, the customer is responsible for both outbound and return shipping.

Yes. You have a 30-day right of withdrawal. This means you can cancel your order within 30 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason.
If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, a brief notification to us is sufficient, for example, by email or letter. You can then return the goods to us. After receiving and inspecting the return, we will refund the purchase price via the original payment method.
Please note: Custom-made or personalized products are excluded from the right of withdrawal.

Yes, you can rent button machines from us. This is a practical solution if you only want to make buttons for a limited time – for example, for events, workshops, school projects, club activities, birthdays, or trade fairs.
You'll receive a fully equipped button machine, ready to use right away. The rental package also includes the necessary tools for cutting out the designs (a circle cutter or a die-cutting tool, depending on the button size). You can simply order the button blanks and paper separately to suit your project.
Many people use the rental option to try out button making for the first time. And if you find that you really enjoy it or would like to use the machine more often, you can simply keep it after the rental period.

Button production in general
To make your own buttons, you'll need the following basic equipment:
- Button machine – e.g., the Type 900 or Flexi model, depending on the desired size and flexibility.
- Button blanks – these consist of the metal top, the back (with pin, magnet, etc.), and the transparent film. These are specially made for button machines and guarantee durability and a good appearance.
- Printed paper – onto which you print your design. Standard copy paper (80 g/m²) is ideal.
- Circle cutter or templates – to cut your design precisely to fit the button.
- Optional: Software and print templates – e.g., Badge Designer

Here we explain step by step how you can make your own button with one of our button machines:
1. Design and print your design
First, you need a design. This can be a logo, a photo, text, or a creative graphic – whatever you want! Make sure it's the right size for your button.
Once you've finished your design, it's best to print it on regular paper (80–100 g/m² is perfectly sufficient). Our specially developed Button Designer can help you with this.
2. Cut out your design
Now, cut out your design to the exact size using a suitable paper punch or a circle punch. This way, it will fit perfectly in the button machine. Alternatively, you can, of course, use scissors.
3. Preparing the Button Parts
A button consists of several parts:
- The metal top
- The paper insert (your cut-out design)
- A protective film
- The backing (e.g., with a pin, magnet, or mirror, etc.)
Place these parts directly into the button maker.
4. Operating the Button Machine
Now comes the exciting part: pressing! First, place the top, then your design, and finally the protective film into the lower die, numbered 1.
Place the backing into the lower die, numbered 2.
Then rotate the swivel plate so that the lower die, numbered 1, is positioned below the top die. Pull the lever down once – and then back up – and repeat this process with the lower die, numbered 2.
Your very own button is finished!

For easy processing, we recommend:
Standard copy paper with a weight of approximately 80 g/m².
Avoid:
Paper that is too thick (e.g., photo cardstock or highly glossy photo paper), as buttons made with thicker paper often cannot be pressed. The paper insert is always significantly larger than the finished button because part of the paper is folded over at the back. If the paper is too thick, this won't work. Paper that is too thick is a common cause of defective or at least imperfect buttons.
Wet or damp paper, as it will warp or the foil won't adhere well.
Is there special button paper?
No, special "button paper" is not necessary. Standard copy paper is perfectly adequate. The print quality and proper cutting are more important than the paper itself.
If you want very high-quality, glossy, or special effects, you can experiment with special printing techniques, but this is not essential and can negatively affect the pressing quality.
To ensure your button designs fit perfectly, you need a clean, round cut of the paper insert. We offer three practical tools for this purpose.
Paper Punch
The simplest solution. You slide the printed design through the slot, press once – and get a perfectly round cutout.
Circle Cutter
Our classic tool for anyone who makes buttons regularly. The circle cutter has a template and a blade block, depending on the button size. These two parts can be interchanged, allowing you to cut paper for a different button size.
Flexi Die
The most convenient and efficient option. This die-cutting attachment is easily and quickly inserted into your Flexi machine, similar to the die sets. If you have different button sizes, you only need one die block and one printing plate. For the different button sizes or diameters, you only need different steel blades. You need one for each button size.

The correct paper size depends on the button size you're using. The design needs to be larger than the finished button because part of it will be folded around the metal during pressing. Therefore, you need a paper circle specifically sized for the button.

Here's how to do it:
Use our PDF templates for every size – this ensures precise cropping and placement.
Cut the designs as round and precisely as possible, ideally using a paper punch or circle cutter.
Make sure that important content (e.g., text) is not too close to the edge – it could be obscured when folded.
In short: If you're working with a Badgematic button machine, we strongly recommend using our original blanks – and for good reason.
Perfect Fit
Our blanks are precisely matched to our machines. Precision manufacturing ensures that all parts (top, back, and foil) fit the dies with millimeter accuracy, delivering perfect results without jamming or misprints.
Other Blanks = Risk
Blanks from other suppliers often look similar but can have slight variations in size, material, or thickness – and that's enough to cause them to:
- not be pressed properly,
- jam or damage the machine,
- or fail to hold the button together.
This is especially critical with the foil – if it's too thick, too thin, or too stiff, it often leads to creases or defective buttons.
No Warranty on Third-Party Parts
Important: If the machine is damaged by using third-party blanks, the warranty is void. Our lifetime warranty only applies when using original Badgematic materials.

In short:
You don't have to use our blanks—but if you want reliable, clean results, you absolutely should. This is the only way to ensure your machine functions optimally—and you avoid frustration, defective production, and potential damage.
To ensure your buttons not only look great but are also well-made and long-lasting, we've compiled the most important tips for you:
1. Print Quality of the Design
- Use high-resolution templates so your design appears crisp and clear – especially for small button sizes.
- Ensure sufficient margins: Important content (text, logos) should not be too close to the edge, as it could be cut off during pressing.
- Use our free PDF templates – this guarantees the correct size and includes the appropriate cut line directly in the design.
2. Cutting the Paper Correctly
- Cut the design into a precise circle and the correct size.
- The easiest way to do this is with our paper punches, circle cutters, or flexible punches, which are precisely matched to our formats. This prevents imprecise edges and creases.
3. The Right Paper
- Use standard printer paper with a weight of approximately 80–90 g/m².
Paper that is too thick (e.g., photo paper) or coated material can cause creases, folds, or even malfunctions.
4. Use Original Blanks
- Always use original Badgematic blanks. They are precisely matched to our machines and ensure smooth processing without waste.
- Using other manufacturers' blanks carries the risk of inaccurate fit, creasing, or damage – and in such cases, our warranty will be void.
5. Operate the Machine Smoothly and Consistently
- Apply even pressure when pressing – quickly, but smoothly.
- Ensure that the components are inserted correctly (top, paper, film, and backing).
6. Keep the Machine Clean
- Regularly remove small paper scraps or residue from the machine.
- The metal parts don't require special care, but a clean work area ensures consistent quality.
Extra Tips for Professionals:
- Do a test print before starting – especially if you plan to produce a large number of buttons.
- For larger quantities, use a flexible punches or circle cutter to save time.

Yes – we can also produce buttons in special shapes. In addition to classic round buttons, we offer special machines for heart-shaped and rectangular buttons.

If you make your own buttons, the cost per button is very low. Once you have a button-making machine, all you need are button blanks and paper. Depending on the size and backing, the cost is usually just a few cents per button.
The 59 mm size is the most popular because it's versatile and particularly economical. The exact cost depends primarily on the backing you choose.
Example (59 mm, pack size 100):
• With safety pin: approx. €0.20 – €0.30 per button
• As a fridge magnet: approx. €0.40 – €0.60 per button
(plus minimal costs for paper and printing)

About our button machines
Both machines are high-quality, durable, and "Made in Germany." The main difference lies in their flexibility when changing sizes:
Type 900
This machine is designed for a fixed button size. You select your desired size (e.g., 25mm or 59mm) when purchasing – a later change is not possible. However, it is very compact, stable, and ideal for mobile use or large production runs of a single size.
Flexi
The Flexi is – as the name suggests – flexible: You can produce up to five sizes (25/32/38/50/59mm) with just one machine. Changing the die sets takes only a few seconds and requires no tools. Perfect if you need different formats.
Both models use a rotary mechanism and deliver the same professional quality. The choice depends on whether you only use one size – or prefer to remain flexible.

If the button maker isn't working properly or the button isn't holding together correctly, the following could be the cause:
1. Blanks inserted incorrectly
Check the order: The top part, paper insert, and foil go into the lower die (number 1).
The bottom part (e.g., with pin or magnet, etc.) goes into the lower die (number 2).
2. Clean the machine
Paper scraps or pieces of foil in the die can impair its function. Clean carefully with a dry cloth.
3. Use the correct material
Use genuine Badgematic blanks. Third-party materials may have dimensional deviations and cause problems. Also, ensure the foil thickness is correct.
4. Perform the pressing process correctly
Press the lever firmly and completely to the stop at both stations.
5. Check individual parts
Sometimes a blank is damaged. Test the process with new parts.
