You want to start your own button production.
That's a pretty good idea. And then you've landed with us - BADGEMATIC. Those are pretty much perfect conditions!
Where do I start? You're probably wondering what you actually need, what you should pay attention to, and so on. And maybe you've already browsed our webshop a bit and don't really know where to start.
No problem - we'll help you.
STEP 1 | Decide on a button size
First, you should think about choosing your button size.
Just check out our guide...
After all, you don't want to be annoyed later when you realize that there is a much nicer and more varied selection for other sizes. Here you can find a good overview of which backs are available for which button sizes.
If you are unsure about the size, you can also order a sample set to be sent to your home. This will include all button sizes and you can see exactly how they look next to each other. In most cases, this only costs €5.95 including shipping within Germany. Just send us an email with what you would like to try out.
guide
You should also take the back variants we have available into account when making your decision. It's best to look in our shop in the different categories of button blanks to see what backs we offer for which size.
You'll see that there are sizes for which we have an incredible number of different back variants. For example, the 25 mm and 59 mm buttons. There are relatively few backs for the 32 mm buttons because they are also relatively new.
Sometimes the purpose dictates the size. Are you planning a bachelor party? Then you should choose a relatively large size. After all, you want to be seen with your crew and your motto. Then take the 59 mm buttons, for example. This is our best-selling button size. Also ideal for advertising, and children love them!
If you want to use buttons for crafts or to decorate cards... Then take the 25 mm, 32 mm or 38 mm buttons because of their delicate size. If you already know that you would like to give buttons as bottle openers to your club, then the choice is already made. Because bottle openers are only available for the 59 mm buttons.
STEP 2 | Choose a button machine
We offer you two button machines for purchase.
Which one is right for you and your needs - we'll find out :)
Just watch our video - you'll be
a lot wiser afterwards.

Which button machine is available for which button size?
It's best to first check which button machine is available for your button size. Because if you've decided on the 75 mm buttons, for example... there's only the button machine type 900 for those anyway. However, if you want to make the 59 mm buttons, there are 2 different button machine models, the type 900 and the Flexi model.
On our button machine type 900, the inserts are permanently mounted, with the Flexi model you can swap the inserts and maybe add another button size later. If you have the button machine type 900 and want to produce another button size, then you will need to get another machine. Both machines are of exactly the same quality.

You have the CHOICE
How flexible do you want to be?
The difference (including the price, Type 900 is a little cheaper than the Flexi) is only due to the interchangeability. Therefore, you should definitely take the budget factor into account when making your decision. The mobility factor may also be important to you. Both machines are small, handy and easy to transport. But with Type 900, all parts are firmly mounted. This means that nothing can fall off or get lost.
STEP 3 | Choose button blanks
In addition to choosing the right button size for your needs, the button blank also plays a major role.
Was willst du machen?
Now that you have decided on a button size (or several) and a machine type, you of course still need suitable button blanks.
If you have already thought about your button project, then you already know roughly what you want to do with it. Do you want to simply pin the buttons on? Then you can use blanks with a needle. Or clothing magnets if you don't want to stick a needle through clothing.
We also have crocodile clips for this. If you want to make magnetic buttons, we have button blanks with fridge magnets for almost every button size. Do you want to make cool glass markers? Then go for the version with a suction cup.

There is a lot to discover - we have it all!
Many customers end up at Badgematic because we offer the largest variety of button accessories far and wide! For our button machines, we not only have button blanks with the classic pin for pinning, but also with many other great backs.
This opens up completely new possibilities when it comes to using buttons. The fact is that you can use your machine to produce any back that you find in our shop. Without having to modify or buy anything.
STEP 4 | Design your button motif
Do you already have a graphics program that you like to work with? Then this shouldn't be a problem for you. Please always pay attention to our print template information so that everything is perfectly positioned on the finished button.
For those who are not familiar with graphic design or just like it easy, we have our Badge Designer. Here you can easily design, save and print your own button designs online without any prior knowledge. You need a paid license, which you can buy from us here. The Badge Designer offers many great design functions, templates and so on. This is definitely the easiest way to design your button designs.

STEP 5 | Paper, foils and cutters
The paper for your buttons must always be cut to exactly the same size as the foil. In detail, this means:
25 mm: 32,6 mm
32 mm: 41,4 mm
38 mm: 51 mm
50 mm: 61,1 mm
59 mm: 69,8 mm
In addition, the paper insert must always be cut out cleanly. So it should be nice and round and without any snippets. So you should think carefully about how you want to shape the paper insert for your buttons.
We also have little
helpers and materials directly
in the shop - really practical.
Now you can get started!
Now you really have everything you need to start your own button production. If you click on the link below, you can select your button machine. You will then be taken to our configurator, where you can put everything together according to your wishes.
