Cutting Paper Inlays for Buttons
An important part of your individual button is of course your self-designed button motif. Creative button artists do only have plenty of time for cutting the paper inlay with a scissor. They want this process to be as easy and comfortable as possible. We are offering you various possibilities to cut your paper inlay as easy as possible. You can for example print your design on a normal copying paper and later on cut it with one of our circle cutters or paper punches in exactly the right size for your button.
To make a good button it is extremely important that the paper inlay is cut in exactly the correct diameter - this must be exactly the size of your button foil. And additional to that it has to be cut perfectly round, without paper snippets. A circle cutter or also a paper punch can be a very comfortable tool to make this work as easy and quick as possible. Using a circle cutter or paper punch will make it absolutely easy to get a perfectly cut paper inlay for your button production. As an alternative to the circle cutters or paper punches tehre is pre-cut button paper and makes any cutting unnecessary. But you do not need both - a circle cutter/paper punch OR the pre-cut paper. You only need one of these options. Choose between 4 different alternatives to cut paper inlays for your buttons: Circle Cutter hulahoop, circle cutter type 2002, circle cutter type 2006 or the paper punch.
Circle cutter for button paper inlays type 2002
This circle cutter is the lowest-priced at Badgematic. It is made of acrylic glass and equipped with sharp cutting blades. At the foot of the circle cutter there is a templete which makes it possible to lead the blade round about the paper inlay and cut it in exactly the correct size for your desired button. The template is transparent so that you can easily center the design you want of the button so that it will be perfectly in the middle later on. There is a float glass plate which you use and lay under the circle cutter before cutting. When the blad is blunt you can easily replace it. You can use any simple cuttong blad 8x2 mm which you can buy at building centers. Alternatively you can of course also buy spare blades from us. If you plan to make buttons on a kid`s event, then you should not take this circle cutter into account. From the experience we know that it is quite easy to cut yourself badly with the sharp blades - especially childer. If you plan to work with children you should go for the type 2006 or the paper punch.
Circle cutter for button paper inlays type 2006
This type of circle cutter is made of higher-quality materials than type 2002. This is also why it is more expensive. It is made of aluminium. The knives which it uses to cut the paper inlays are round knives which are especially made for this circle cutter. The circle cutter has a plexi glass windowo on top. You can look through this transparent window to center your design in the middle. For cutting you only have to puch the handle with the black ball down and turn it around. If you plan a kid`s event, this circle cutter will be the right choice. The round knives can cut paper but it is hard to cut yourself with it.
Paper Punch for button paper inlays
The paper punch is the king`s league of possible alternatives for cutting paper inlays. It is made of aluminium casting, it is heavy and massive and thereby it is standing quite stable on your desk. To punch your design in the correct size you only need to cut it in stripes which have the right size to put it into the punch. After you have centered it perfectly by moving it into the right position, you pull the lever of the punch and it is ready. Because of the very expensive manufacturing process and the used materials, the paper punch is quite expensive compared to the circle cutters. But on the other hand it really offers high comfort and a quick workflow. If you treat it well, the knives do not have to be exchanged. The cutting principle is acutally the one of a hole puncher.
